In May 2007, the U.S. Supreme Court's decision in Ledbetter v. Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., Inc., left plaintiffs' lawyers scratching their heads and Supreme Court observers raising their eyebrows. The decision strictly interpreted a key limitations provision of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
